Exhibitions

9 Exhibits per year - September through June, including our widely-acclaimed annual elementary school art exhibition.  Each show commences with an opening reception to meet the artist(s) and runs approximately three weeks to one month in duration. Both emerging and more established artists are featured.

Other Planned Events & Activities

Travelling & Permanent Collections - On occasion, special exhibits & collections are scheduled into the gallery.  Please check our calendar to see if/when these events are scheduled.

The Invitational -This special exhibition takes place bi-annually and offers the opportunity for artists from all over South-western Ontario to submit their work for display.  Submissions are juried and a select group of works are chosen to be shown at the following show. This enables to the gallery to display the works of many area artists.

Exhibition Planning - Submissions of works for future exhibitions in the gallery are juried annually.  Applications from both emerging and established artists are accepted with work in all media being welcome.  Artists should apply to the Exhibition Chairman at the gallery address.  A 20% commission is charged on all sold works.

V.A.L.S. Program

Visiting Artists in Local Schools  is an immensely popular programme which takes place in January and February.  Several artists, sponsored and financed by the gallery, offer their time and talents to teach specific skills to students in seven area elementary schools.  Artists rotate through the schools so that classes gain experience and techniques with different media.  The culmination of this art instruction forms of the Elementary School Art Exhibition which takes place at the gallery in March.

Scholarships

Gallery in the Grove is extremely proud of our Art Scholarships, which are presented annually at the conclusion of the school year. These scholarships are awarded to deserving candidates who will be furthering their education in the Visual Arts at the college or university level. Scholarship winners are offered the opportunity to exhibit at the gallery.
