I am a stained glass artist living near the beautiful shore of Lake Huron. Nature is my main source of inspiration, and having also lived on both the east and west coasts of Canada, water and animals are common themes in my work. The interplay of light and colour in the medium of glass keeps the art form exciting for me. Pieces can look entirely different over the course of a day, which really can bring them to life. I enjoy designing and building whimsical creations and I hope you like them too!.

Hand Me Up Mittens are handcrafted by Caroline Vallee, a long-time resident of Sarnia. Caroline arrived in Sarnia over 40 years ago from London, Ontario to work in the chemical valley.
Working full time while raising three boys left little time for her interest in sewing, knitting and crafting. Luckily, as the boys grew older, she was able find the time to return to her sewing machine. After several sewing projects that missed the mark; purses, baby booties, slippers, etc., a pair of mittens made from upcycled wool turned out beautifully! With some practice making mittens for family and friends, Hand Me Up Mittens was born in 2016. Since the beginning, Caroline has been sewing mittens year round in preparation for each Christmas season. Caroline appreciates the inspiration provided by her seamstress grandmother who sewed custom drapery for Sears and her own mother, who made most of Caroline’s childhood clothes. Hand Me Up Mittens are handcrafted from locally sourced upcycled wool apparel making them eco-friendly and warm! @handmeupmittens |

Art has always been a part of who I am. I’ve loved being creative for as long as I can remember – starting with watercolour lessons as a child and art classes in high school. That passion led me to pursue a Graphic Design Diploma at St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario.
Fine art took a back seat while my focus shifted first toward a career in graphic design and then to raising a family full time. During those years, photography became my creative outlet – flexible enough to fit into busy everyday life. In recent years, I’ve returned to fine art more consistently. I was drawn back into the world of watercolour. It’s taken time to build the courage to embrace the joy of just letting go – breaking rules, getting lost in the process and especially painting with feeling. Sometimes it works, often it doesn’t, but the freedom and exploration are good for the soul. @lkoartdesign |

My many collections are designed and crafted using premium materials. Sterling silver and gold filled* metals are some of my favourite materials to work with. Sometimes texturing the metals and accenting them with precious, semi-precious stones, pearls and beach glass inspires the process and final design. From minimalist to statement pieces these materials make my unique designs high quality, long-lasting and perfect for every day.
Gold filled, unlike gold plated or vermeil, is a strictly regulated standard that must contain 5%, or 1/20 14kt gold which is extremely durable and the most affordable alternative to solid 14kt gold. Clean sterling silver with a jewellery polishing cloth and store in a zip-loc bag to minimize tarnish. Stretch bracelets should be rolled on and off. Avoid over-stretching and harsh chemicals such as chlorine. @ohsojewelleryco |

Shantell Lavigne is a local artist that was born and raised in London, ON. After graduating High School, she completed the Arts Program at H.B. Beal and then attended Sheridan College for Illustration. After moving back to her hometown, she then met her spouse of 21 years and was blessed with five children. During those years, she painted portraits and taught herself how to sew costumes, quilts and clothes for her kids. When the pandemic hit, she started making masks to donate to the local schools, neighbours, family and friends. This then led her to opening a small business called “LAVIGNE’S” and embarking on a new journey for the future. In 2020, she moved to Sarnia and began exploring Art Festivals, Markets and other shows in and around the area. Her Instagram account allowed many designers and fabric shops to view her work, which then lead to many opportunities for collaborations with fabric designers like Katarina Roccella from Art Gallery Fabrics, bag pattern designers like Suzanna McKeon from Hold It Right There Patterns, Muriel Corbierre from Cocotte and Co Creations and Shop owner Amie Waterhouse from My Fabric Dresser. She loves to use only the finest materials like 100% designers’ cotton, eco-friendly cork, vegan leather, Essex linen, cotton canvas and high-quality hardware & zippers to create these unique “one of a kind” pieces. This would include bags, wallets, quilts, therapeutic wraps, key fobs, mug rugs, scrunchies and custom gifts for that personal touch!

Linda West has exhibited her work at shows throughout the province, and has been a regular exhibitor at “Rotary Art in the Park”. She enjoys working with fabric and fibre, and has created various items from holiday decor, (angels, Santas, snowfolk) as well as the “Nun of a Kind” Collection.
For this exhibit, efforts have turned to a retro display of holiday and winter décor, including creations like “The Great Canadian Krismoose”, versions of which grace many a home decades after the original was created! As well, knitwear, suitable for colder temperatures and gift giving, plus old favourites and new additions to the “Snugglebuddy” line for gifting the younger crowd, will be featured. @sticksandstringshandmade |
