About Us
Our Mission
Gallery in the Grove is a non-profit art gallery dedicated to showcasing exhibitions while focusing on youth art education through our Grade Six Visiting Artist in Lambton County (VALS) program.
Our mission is to provide a platform for emerging artists and to inspire creativity and artistic expression in young minds.
Our History
Gallery in the Grove, established in 1980, is a volunteer-run registered charitable organization that fosters awareness, appreciation, and pride in the artistic achievements of both emerging and established visual artists in our area and throughout Canada.
With the dedicated efforts of its volunteers, Gallery in the Grove shall, through exhibitions, education, and communication, increase public awareness and public appreciation of the visual arts.
Gallery in the Grove is proud to provide free art education through our Visiting Artists in Lambton Schools - VALS program and to award post-secondary scholarships every year.

Exhibitions
Gallery in the Grove hosts six exhibits per year - September through June, including our widely-acclaimed annual Senior Secondary school Art Exhibition. Each exhibition commences with an opening reception to meet the artist(s) and runs approximately four weeks to six weeks in duration. We exhibit local and regional established and emerging artists.
Youth Art Education
Visiting Artists in Local Schools (VALS)
Three professional artists, sponsored and financed by the gallery, offer their time and talents to teach specific art techniques to Grade Six students across Sarnia Lambton elementary schools. Artists rotate through the schools so that classes gain experience and techniques with different media. The culmination of this art instruction forms of the Elementary School Art Exhibition which takes place at the Gallery in May. Over 750 students participated in 2025.

Scholarships
Gallery in the Grove is extremely proud of our Art Scholarships, which are presented annually at the conclusion of the school year. These scholarships are awarded to deserving candidates who will be furthering their education in the Visual Arts at the college or university level. Scholarship winners are offered the opportunity to exhibit at the gallery. Over $140,000 has been awarded to date.
Other events
Juried Exhibitions
This special exhibition takes place bi-annually and offers the opportunity for artists from all over Southwestern Ontario to submit their work for display. Submissions are juried and a select group of works are chosen to be shown. This enables to the gallery to display the works of many area artists.
Bus Trips
We organize bus trips throughout the year to significant galleries, museums and points of interest across Ontario and Michigan.
Workshops
Workshops are offered once or twice a year.
